Our unforgettable Venetian stay at the JW Marriott Venice

Mathilde, her husband & their 3 children, Timothée, Chloé & Héloise

We were looking for a destination that would satisfy all the family for our next trip, which eventually took place from the 25th to the 29th of May. We quickly contacted Little Guest, which found us a hotel that exactly met our expectations, with the icing on the cake, that also pleased our children!

We would take off during the evening, to later land in Venice Airport, at quite a late, very late hour, around 1 A.M. This time may seem pretty unconventional, but here is one of the advantages of booking through Little Guest, as they organise from A to Z everything the parents do not really like to think of… To name it, the transfers. All went wonderfully, in spite of the very late hour. We were transferred from the airport to the jetty where we would then embark on a boat to reach the hotel, on Isola delle Rose, in front of Venice. A smooth transfer, we have no complain to make at all.

We were warmly greeted, and the check-in was fast and efficient, we were more than happy to finally enter our room together to rest. We were staying in the Uliveto Suite at the ground floor. It was a vast accommodation that gave off a view on the olive grove (which we would obviously only see in the morning) and with a thoughtful layout, this room exactly had what we were looking for: large areas, practical furniture, a bedroom for the parents, a sleeping and staying area for the children, a bathroom with a bathtub and a separate shower. The absolute comfort. We though regret that the decoration as somewhat too simple to our taste.

The location of the hotel made the visit of the city of the island easy, a city which calmness and peacefulness were surprising. In fact, a shuttle would go from the hotel to this city and back, every hour, which was highly welcomed as travelling with children can sometimes become complicated. That allowed us to visit the Piazza San Marco, a true beauty to witness.

As far as the hotel is concerned, we were delighted, the place is magnificent. The great advantage of the JW Marriott Venice is its outdoor pool which offers an astounding view on Venice, a family-friendly pool moreover. Children could then enjoy it too! We also tried the fitness room, that, we think, will please any sports lover. Finally, the spa looked lovely and very modern, we unfortunately didn’t experience it (sadly!), but it was very appealing.

We would like to mention that the hotel produces its own olive oil. They are the only ones around Venice to do so and to provide with a product of such quality. For that matter, the olive grove not only is decorative, but also is productive: these olives one way or another end up in the guests’ plates, which genuinely enhances the taste.

We had booked a bed breakfast formula through Little Guest, this allowed us to sit at the table of the different restaurants of the hotel. On the first day, we sat at the Sagra’s terrace. An à la carte service was proposed, and the view from there simply was delightful, we keep a wonderful memory of it. The next morning, we ate at the international buffet of the Cucina restaurant. In both cases, everything felt fresh, and more importantly, tasted heavenly (just ask our children)!

One night, we wanted to treat ourselves and make a reservation at a gourmet restaurant, which was eventually made impossible: there was no availability. That was quite problematic. Since the shuttles are available every hour, that would mean that we would have to come back at the right time to the hotel. So we simply decided to call the room service of the hotel, which, in the end, did not disappoint us at all. Here is our piece of advice for the future guests: make sure to make a reservation the day prior so to have your table at the restaurant.

A wonderful experience, here is how we would summarise it. This hotel smartly mixes the city-trip aspect to luxury, gastronomy and relaxation, all of such near the Doges’ city that we highly recommend, especially given the fact that the boat shuttles are entirely free for the JW Marriott Venice guests.

Thank you very much Little Guest, until next time!
