Our dream holiday at Ikos Oceania, between the sea and the mountains

In August 2019, my little family and I packed our bags for two weeks of relaxation and comfort at Ikos Oceania. This incredible all-inclusive hotel on the Greek peninsula of Chalkidiki proved to be the perfect choice for a kid-friendly stay under the Mediterranean sun. I, therefore, share my adventure with you and warmly recommend this experience!

I’ll always remember this beautiful summer evening. It is almost 7 pm, my son Henri is sleeping peacefully in the arms of my husband, who has also let himself be tempted by the arms of Morpheus. With Suzanne, we watch the monochrome blues depicted by the Aegean Sea through the window of the plane, off the port city of Thessaloniki where our plane will land in a few minutes. The scene is sublime and reveals itself as the beginning of a most pleasant summer stay.

At the airport, the Ikos shuttle is waiting for us. Happy and ready for adventure, we are received like a royal family, which is always very pleasant. After an hour’s drive, we finally arrive in a green setting where we can see the silhouette of the Ikos Oceania in the distance. A magnificent welcome is reserved for us: the team takes good care of us and offers us a welcome drink before leading us to the suite.

Tired but curious, we enter our cosy nest with exultation. It consisted of a large master bedroom, a comfortable sofa bed carefully prepared for our little Suzanne, as well as a cot where Henri spent long nights throughout our stay. The gentle attention that made all the difference: colourings for the children who, as exhausted as they were by the journey, couldn’t wait until the next day to start having fun with them.

While the little ones hone their artistic talents, my husband and I walk through the suite and discover the sublime modern bathroom with a bathtub that promises long moments of relaxation.

For our second week, the hotel team offered us to move down one floor to stay in an identical suite with a sunny balcony overlooking the sea…a real treat.

When we came back, I praised the merits of the Ikos Oceania to all our couple of friends looking for a prestigious and family-friendly hotel for their future holidays. For our walks for example, a stroller for Henri was made available to us at the request of our Little Concierge. A gesture that says a lot about the special attention paid to the children’s well-being by the respective teams of Ikos and Little Guest! We also benefited from the services of an adorable babysitter who took good care of our toddlers so that my husband and I could enjoy a quiet evening together, a dinner for two or a relaxing moment at the spa.

When it comes to baby-club and kids-club, my kids are more than happy! Suzanne always had stories to tell us, between her new friends and the many activities organized by the educational team. As for Henri, he spent a few sweet moments at the baby club, both supervised and secured.

If I had to sum up our stay in one word, it would be « relaxation« . Spacious and contemporary, the spa is an undeniable haven of peace. I spent delectable hours by the heated indoor pool, after a soothing sauna and hammam session, and indulged myself with divine massages and a manicure for the beauty touch.

Although the resort offers a multitude of activities, we chose to take it easy by the sea. Whether at the beach or at the pool, the service was up to our expectations, and even better. Beverage service, cleaning sunglasses splashed by children…Being a parent has never been easier than at Ikos Oceania!

In all respects, the hotel is a safe bet to satisfy the whole family, especially when it comes to cooking. And would a holiday be successful without an outstanding gastronomic experience? The hotel features 5 restaurants which, although varied, are all equally modern, elegant and chic. In each of them, the service is excellent and the meals are gourmet. Suzanne loved the breakfasts at Flavors, which offers a super practical breakfast buffet for kids. A great 10/10!

Thanks to these faultless services and this idyllic setting, our family holidays went by at full speed! We nevertheless enjoyed every moment of it, whether we were alone, in a duo or the four of us. I don’t doubt for a second that you will spend a dreamlike stay with your little tribe in this prestigious place where relaxation and comfort reign.
