My discovery of the Noah Surf House

In August I had the privilege to stay in this unique hotel. Here is my testimony.

Being the founder of Little Guest, I travel a lot. I have made my passion my profession and I usually visit our partner establishments, accompanied by my wife and our son Achille. We therefore have the chance to discover great hotels. But never have I ever seen a hotel as singular as the Noah Surf House!

Inaugurated in 2018, the hotel’s mission is to pay tribute to the ocean. The concept is really great: it is a hyper-cool place that sublimates the surfing culture. The atmosphere is bohemian, the materials are raw, the food is organic and the staff is relaxed. The architect who created this resort, worthy of the most beautiful decoration magazines, has completely let go and refined his work down to the smallest detail. Multiple references to the sea world have been subtly slipped in here and there, such as fishing nets, lobster baskets or marine rope. The result is a hotel that exudes good vibes.

The Noah Surf House is located in Santa Cruz, a cute little resort known for its waves. From Lisbon airport, it took us only 40 minutes to reach the hotel. It’s really very fast.

The hotel is right in front of the sea and it features a large annexe on the beach where there are a restaurant and the nautical base. The seawater is quite cold and the waves are very impressive. Swimming here is therefore not very recommended for young children, who will certainly have more fun in the hotel’s swimming pool.

On the other hand, you should know that, on the beach, you can rent small tents at the price of 20€ per day. These traditional Portuguese tents offer the advantage of protection from the sun and provide children with an original playground.

If you are a family of surfers, this hotel will be your little piece of paradise. But if, like us, you don’t surf, you will still enjoy many other activities! Indeed, a weekly program is dedicated to children: skateboard lessons, cooking workshop, yoga for kids, creative workshop

The Noah Surf House has its own skate park where skateboards are available free of charge and also features its own surf school where lessons are offered for adults and children.

Kids are also invited to collect eggs in the henhouse and pick vegetables in the vegetable garden, while adults enjoy free lessons (Pilates, yoga, body pump, etc.). To get together and share a moment as a family, bicycles are available on loan: a friendly way to discover the surrounding area.

The hotel strives to reduce its environmental footprint as much as possible and promotes the pleasure of the moment. That’s why you won’t find TV or air conditioning in the rooms. Music lovers will be delighted to discover a Bluetooth hi-fi system that broadcasts its music throughout the room.

The rooms are divided into two categories: bungalows and pavilions. Some bungalows feature a small kitchen. The rooms have a very original decoration and are all suitable for children. The children’s beds look like cabins. Wonder guaranteed!

The restaurant’s menu offers healthy dishes prepared with local products. You can also share delicious tapas or enjoy a pizza straight from the traditional oven.

In the evening, we enjoyed the bohemian chic atmosphere on the deck overlooking the sea. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail around the fire basket.

During our stay, we met many families from Portugal, France, Switzerland and Germany. All of them seemed to have the same philosophy: sharing precious moments in a relaxed way and celebrating life.

I highly recommend you to stay at the Noah Surf House. Whether it is for a short stay or a longer vacation, this place will positively affect your mind and regenerate you.

Jérôme
