A stay worthy of the Arabian Nights at Oberoi Marrakech

During the last Autumn break, we stayed at the Oberoi Marrakech with our family.

We love going to Morocco and were looking forward to this stay. We decided to treat ourselves to a one-bedroom villa with a private pool. Our son’s bed in the living room was very comfortable. This room is simply stunning and lacks nothing. The bathroom is huge and the indoor shower opens onto the terrace: practical when you come out of the pool. The dressing room is also very impressive in its size and architecture. The high ceilings and the muffled decoration give the place a truly majestic character.

As a welcome gift, my son received a huge chocolate bar with a wooden hammer to break it. He had a lot of fun… and a good time eating it of course!

As for us, we received two beautiful boxes of tea. A beautiful bouquet of flowers was also placed on the living room table.

Our villa was located at the far end of the resort. It was a five-minute walk to the pool or restaurant. Bicycles and chauffeured golf carts are also available to enable all guests to move around the beautiful property with ease.

The Oberoi is located approximately 30 minutes’ drive from the centre of Marrakech. This relative distance gives you the impression of staying in a real oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. However, you should expect to spend around €100 to get to the famous Jemaa El-Fna square with the hotel’s limousine.

With its colourful Moroccan cloth umbrellas and large wooden terrace, the hotel’s swimming pool is truly unique. Small pools surround the main pool and are perfect for babies, as they are only about 20 centimetres deep.

“Our son Achille really enjoyed the kids’ club, but also the games room opposite, with table football and table tennis”

My wife used the gym next to the impressive spa every day. Free group classes are held there.

Our six-year-old son Achille really enjoyed the kids’ club, but also the games room opposite, which has table football and table tennis. He had the opportunity to play board games and do some nice crafts. The entertainers are very friendly with the children and the hotel is planning to build a farm and an outdoor annex to provide even more activities for the kids.

We loved the breakfast we had on the terrace, with a beautiful view of the grand canal and the hotel’s lush gardens.

“During our stay, we met many other families who had also chosen this peaceful haven to recharge their batteries”

As the Oberoi group is Indian, the main restaurant offers an original menu combining Moroccan specialities with typical Indian dishes. The prices on the menu are very reasonable for an establishment of this level.

During our stay, we met many other families who had also chosen this haven of peace to recharge their batteries. Our son made new friends with whom he could safely wander around the huge property.

Special mention to the hotel concierge who recommended an incredible experience in the Agafay desert. After a 40-minute drive, we had lunch in an amazing place and spent the afternoon around a pool in the desert.

In conclusion, I would recommend the Oberoi to families looking for serenity, peace and authentic luxury. The architecture of the hotel is exceptional and you feel like you are staying in a royal Moroccan palace.

Staying at this hotel is sure to leave the whole family with magical memories!
